Exercising After Plastic Surgery

After people have undergone a plastic surgery procedure such as liposuction or brachioplasty, they may want to resume or start an exercise regime.  However, before patients start exercising, they should remember a few things.

First, it takes 4 to 6 weeks to fully recover from most cosmetic surgery procedures.  Patients should allow themselves to rest during their recovery time to ensure that they heal properly.  Once the recovery time period has passed, people may begin exercising again.

Second, it is best to take activity slowly.  People may want to start with light walking for 30 to 40 minutes and then progress to other cardiovascular activities and weight training with time.  It is always advised that patients ease back into exercise slowly when they have undergone significant body transformations.
