This week, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons filed a report pertaining to 2010 data. The report detailed cosmetic procedures obtained by men and women and indicated that breast augmentation remains the top overall plastic surgery procedure. This type of procedure has been number one since 2006.
According to the report, breast augmentations increased by 2% in 2010, and eyelid surgeries increased by 3%. However, liposuction, tummy tucks and rhinoplasty procedures declined.
One non-surgical treatment that increased exponentially was Botox. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons claims that Botox treatments increased by 12% in the year 2010.
An interesting trend that the American Society of Plastic Surgeons' report revealed is that plastic surgery is not only on the rise for woman, but also men. Still, women accounted for 91% of all procedures performed in 2010 and $10.1 billion was spent on surgeries.
