A lot of people choose to have plastic surgery because they want to eliminate signs of aging, or reduce wrinkles and fine lines. This is why procedures like facelifts and eyelid lifts have become so popular. However, a new study by the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery has revealed that on average, plastic surgery can take away 7.2 years from a patient's face. This is just an average and really dependant on the amount of facial plastic surgery a patient has done.
The study was led by a plastic surgeon in Toronto. He wanted to set expectations for patients before they decided to get plastic surgery done. Aside from the face data, the doctor said that on average, a neck lift will reduce a person's age appearance by 5.7 years. If a patient has a forehead lift, he or she may wipe away 8.4 years in terms of appearance. In order to derive these averages, the doctor asked 40 medical students to guess the ages of female plastic surgery patients based on before and after photos. If you would like to eliminate years from your facial appearance, contact the West Coast Plastic Surgery Center and set up a time to discuss your cosmetic options with a Westlake Village plastic surgeon.
