Transitioning from Injectables to a Facelift

Given that we live in a world driven in part by beauty and youth, a significant percentage of our patients take a holistic approach to their beauty routine. They maintain an active lifestyle and a healthy diet, they avoid smoking and apply sunscreen regularly, as these are all components of a sound beauty regimen.

In order to maintain lasting results from their surgical and nonsurgical procedures, patients need to care for their whole body, from the inside out. As they receive BOTOX injections and dermal fillers to reduce the outward signs of aging, at home they are hitting the gym, taking yoga or Zumba and watching what they eat.

You may be in the best shape of your life. Perhaps you just celebrated your 30th wedding anniversary, or threw yourself a divorce party. You’re living life to the fullest, feeling 25 on the inside but the reflection in the mirror is telling a different story. You may have had some nonsurgical procedures for some time, but now gravity is taking over and the injections are just not enough. If you are troubled by your neck skin, jowls, and droopy brows, it may be time to transition from injectables to a facelift procedure.

Going Beyond the BOTOX and Fillers

While nonsurgical procedures, such as BOTOX and filler injections are excellent for patients with mild to moderate wrinkles and signs of aging, there comes a time when a facelift is the best approach to address facial laxity and loose skin caused by the natural aging process.

With a facelift, excess skin is removed and the underlying muscles and tissues are tightened. The extent of the surgery depends on what concerns the patient. It may only address the neck or the brows, or it may involve a full lift with other optional procedures such as eyelifts, or fat injections.

Each year, thousands of patients undergo facelifts to correct midface sagging, a double chin, and jowls, and they are extremely pleased with the results, which can make you look 5-10 years younger.
