FAQs About CoolSculpting

Do you have pockets of stubborn fat that are resistant to diet and exercise? Are you tired of your body being unresponsive to your weight loss efforts? If so, and you’re interested in taking a non-surgical approach, CoolSculpting may be the path to a slimmer you! But before you schedule a consultation with our Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Yuly Gorodisky, check out these frequently asked questions and answers about CoolSculpting:

What is CoolSculpting?

It’s a non-invasive procedure that freezes unwanted body fat, with zero downtime. The device freezes the patient’s fat, which is called Cryolipolysis. Eventually, the cells die and are eliminated naturally by the body.

How long does it take to eliminate the fat cells?

It takes about 60 to 90 days for the body to remove the dead fat cells from the body.

Will the surrounding tissue be harmed?

With CoolSculpting, the process involves “controlled cooling,” which kills the fat cells, while leaving other skin structures intact. It’s permanent fat reduction at its finest.

How much fat reduction can be expected?

Patients can expect 20 to 25% permanent fat reduction. Repeated treatments however, can offer even more fat reduction.

How many treatments are recommended?

We recommend two to three treatments, though patients have the option of doing more.

Is CoolSculpting the real deal?

Absolutely! Our patients love CoolSculpting so much that many of them have returned to do a different area because they are overjoyed by their results. Millions of CoolSculpting treatments have been performed all over the world with undeniable results that are documented by many before and after photographs.

What areas can be treated?

CoolSculpting can treat the abdomen, love handles, back fat, the arms, the inner and outer thighs, and double chins!

Is CoolSculpting right for everyone?

CoolSculpting is ideal for patients who are at or near their ideal body weight. It is not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle and weight loss. Patients who are very overweight may not qualify for this treatment. For some patients other liposuction techniques, such as Power Assisted or SLIM Lipo/LifeSculpt may provide better results. However, some patients want absolutely no surgery, so CoolSculpting is a very attractive option.
