What Are the Least Invasive Cosmetic Procedures?

Get the Results You Want Without the Invasiveness

It’s natural to be curious about cosmetic procedures, and many of us have insecurities we would like to address. However, if you are new to the world of plastic surgery, you might be intimidated by the potential recovery process and want to avoid taking time off work. Luckily, there are many noninvasive procedures that can still give you the amazing results you want. Some of the least invasive cosmetic procedures we offer at West Coast Plastic Surgery include:

  • Neurotoxin injections

Botox® is the most popular type of neurotoxin injection and is the one that probably comes to mind when you first think about this procedure. Neurotoxin injections are temporary, non-surgical injections that work to freeze the muscles, giving you a more youthful appearance. The most common locations for this injection include the face, particularly the forehead, neckline, and hands. Patients flock to Botox for the powerful results and younger appearance it gives them. These effects typically last two to five months. Best of all, there is no recovery time when it comes to Botox and neurotoxin injections Patients are free to return to their typical schedule after a few hours.

  • Latisse®

This procedure is all about the lashes! There is a reason that so many makeup lovers apply mascara religiously and are always looking for the best brand to lengthen their lashes. Latisse is an FDA-approved breakthrough treatment that enhances eyelash prominence by increasing length, thickness, and darkness. We prescribe it at our office as a once-daily treatment that a patient can apply to the base of the upper eyelashes. Patients who use it on a daily basis as prescribed see noticeably longer, thicker lashes after about six to eight weeks of treatment. Patients must continue use to maintain results, but they can lessen their frequency as time goes on and they reach their desired result. Because this treatment is a simple medication, it is noninvasive, but a great way to give your self-confidence an extra boost.

  • Chemical peels

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that we apply to the face, hands, and neck. They improve the appearance, tone, and texture of the skin. Chemical peels are often thought of as the secret to amazing skin, and they are one of the most effective skin treatments on the market. Although a chemical peel might sound intense, the main purpose of a chemical peel is simply to exfoliate. We apply a chemical solution containing glycolic acid or salicylic acid that will exfoliate and bring the fresher skin to the surface. The procedure is also fairly noninvasive. The treated area takes about 7-14 days to heal, and patients tend to experience some redness and swelling before they see the results they want.

  • Preventative laser skin treatment

West Coast Plastic Surgery offers Clear + Brilliant™, a new approach to laser skin enhancement. This is a gentle, FDA-approved laser resurfacing treatment. It rejuvenates the skin by addressing early signs of facial aging, sun damage, tone, and texture. It is a fractional laser that creates small treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin. This encourages collagen production and rids the area of dead cells. Adding Clear + Brilliant to your collection of skin care tricks can help recover the glow, luminosity, and smoothness of the skin at any age. As far as recovery from a Clear Brilliant laser procedure, patients tend to experience slight redness that will last between a few hours to 24 hours after treatment. They might experience a “sandpaper” like texture and feel to the skin after treatment because the skin cells are being removed. The results are immediate and progressive. Patients notice softer, brighter looking skin within a week or two of treatment.

  • CoolSculpting®

CoolSculpting is the world’s number one non-invasive fat reduction procedure. At West Coast Plastic Surgery, Dr. Gorodisky offers CoolSculpting as an innovative way for patients to freeze away unwanted fat with no surgery and little to no downtime. During the treatment, a gel pad and applicator is applied to the targeted area. The applicator delivers controlled cooling to the targeted fat. This safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to target the fat cells underneath the skin gently and effectively. The body will then naturally process and eliminate the dead cells, leaving behind a more sculpted body. Some of the most common areas patients opt for CoolSculpting include the stomach and abdomen, thighs, arms, love handles and flanks, back bulge and bra area, buttocks, double chin under the neck, and the chest area for men. One of the best parts of CoolSculpting for many patients is that they are able to return to their regular activities immediately after treatment. Minor side effects include redness and soreness, but these subside within a few weeks of treatment.

  • MicroFat + PRP injection

Patients who want to go for an “all-natural” treatment might opt for a MicroFat + PRP injection. This is a skin rejuvenation procedure that uses the patient’s own tissues to restore volume, texture, and tone in certain areas. The areas patients choose to have restoration are often the areas that are low in collagen. This is because lower collagen content is responsible for the appearance of wrinkles and loss of skin elasticity. MicroFat + PRP injections use the body’s regenerative cells, growth factors, and fat tissue to create natural-looking results without going under the knife.

  • Soft tissue fillers

While the job of neurotoxin injections is to block nerve signals to prevent movements that cause aging, the job of soft tissue fillers is to add volume and fullness to the face and in turn, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. One of the most popular fillers we offer is Juvederm®, which is known for replenishing the hyaluronic acid levels in the skin and pulling in moisture from the body to plump and smooth the area. These treatments primarily focus on the face, such as the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth. Recovery time from a soft tissue filler procedure is minimal. We advise patients to avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, makeup, and alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment. Patients also tend to experience swelling and redness in the area, which will subside within a few days. The results, on the other hand, will last between six months and two years.
